Martial art classes for teachings the art of Self-Defence and Self-Discipline :
One of the central tenets of all forms of the martial arts is an absolute focus on self-discipline. Today's children are so accustomed to receiving instant gratification that lessons in self - restraint and discipline aren't always easy to come by. Children through martial art training, however, are continually reminded of how essential self-discipline is. Martial art teaches children not to attack but to defend when necessary. In the School, all the students up to class X are given compulsory training of martial art on a regular basis to train them for their own self - defence and self - discipline.
Yoga is a regular & mandatory part of the curriculum. The students from Classes II to XII take part in yoga on a regular basis & are also evaluated for their performance as a part of the extra co-curricular activities. The word yoga means 'union' in Sanskrit. Here the union takes place between the mind, body and spirit. 'Asana' refers to the practice of physical pictures or poses. 'Asana' is only one of the eight 'limbs' of yoga, these are concerned with mental and spiritual well being. To ensure a sound physical and spiritual health, we have yoga sessions under the specialised guidance of the trained yoga teacher on a regular basis which also brings out the inner discipline amongst the students.
